1/2 Birthday Party

Miley got a package from Granny West for her 1/2 birthday. She had a ball opening it. She loved the packaging material (bubble wrap). Everything tasted good in her opinion. Timber and I are stoked for the wide brimmed hat, the bathing suit, and the new books. (We've read all the other books numerous times. They are getting a bit old.)

Miley is 6 Months Old!

Miley is now 6 months old. She is right on target with her growth and development. She weighs 17 pounds and is 27 inches long. She is army crawling all over (see video). She is tri-pod sitting...but doesn't stay on her tush long before she is off to find something to chew on. That's right, she's teething. She chews on everything. We got her a teething toy for this birthday. She loves it!

We got an eater!

We started feeding Miley on October 24th. Her first food was Waipio poi. Our buddy Louie lives down in the valley and grows taro. He pounded the poi for us and brought it up for us to give to Miley. She loved it! She must have been ready to eat. A week later she had some sweet coconut water from a neighbors coconut tree. Now she is grinding oatmeal. We'll be sticking with the bland stuff for awhile, but soon she'll get some of Unky and Bahama's apple bananas. Yipee for island grown food.

Baby Lew is on the Way!!!!

Our good friends Mark and Jaime Lewis are due to have their baby November 5th. We had a gathering for them and baby at the beach a couple weekends ago.

They decided not to find out baby's gender. Throughout Jaime's pregnancy, we all have had a good time trying to guess if baby is a boy or a girl.

For the shower, I made two cakes. One was blue inside, the other, pink. They were decorated the same so there was not way to tell which was the boy cake and which was the girl cake. We asked Mark to pick a cake to cut and eat. Then we asked Jaime to do the same (she didn't know which cake Mark picked). They both picked the blue cake. Is baby a boy???

Here is a photo of the parents to be choosing which cake to cut.

We all had a great time BBQing, enjoying each other's company, and the beautiful ocean. Miley loved hanging with her aunties and uncles. She is very excited for her buddy to be born.

We hope Jaime and Mark have a smooth labor. We know they will be great parents!
